sweet

a baby bonnet

This is the Sweet Baby Cap from Gros with a few modifications for sizing down and the topknot. I cast on 103 stitches for a newborn size and when I got down to four stitches, I knit a short i-cord before fastening off.

Comments:
Is it for Tom, the piper's son?

Tom, he was a piper's son,
He learned to play when he was young,
But all the tunes that he could play
Was, 'Over the hills and far away'.
Over the hills and a great way off.
The wind shall blow my top-knot off.

(The rhyme of 'off' with 'off' has always bothered me.)

Discuss. xox Kay

I like the occasional off rhyme, Kay. Tunes doesn't agree with was and I like that, too.

I like it!
Nice with the topknot you have made!

:o) Gro

SUPER sweet!

love the wee little cap, but I have to throw my hat in the ring with Kay. Off/off, I don't think it even counts as a rhyme, it's the same word! Maybe Kay and I should start a webring. Knitters who protest weird nursery rhymes ......

that is mighty sweet, cristina:
